              </script></div><p>It is hard for many men to see yoga as a way to keep their bodies fit and strong, yet it is. The physical part of yoga was originally devised to keep Hindu yogis, who are mostly men, fit and strong. </p>
<p>Yoga can be very helpful for improving bodily strength, which often comes as a surprise to many men. Many of the poses (asanas) used in yoga are especially good for strengthening the back muscles. Other asanas, such as the Crow pose (Bakasana) are designed to increase arm strength. </p>
<p>At the same time, yoga increases flexibility of the body which can be helpful if you tend to be stiff and muscle-bound. It also has a very calming effect on the mind. Once you are able to really merge with its principles, yoga can help you detach from the stress that comes from competitiveness and daily demands. Yoga is famous for its techniques aimed at improving breathing, focus and overall wellness.</p>
<p>There is much more to yoga than mere physical exercise. Forms of yoga such as ashtanga yoga, which are more aerobic and fast paced, are often preferred by men over slower, more meditative forms. <p>Regardless of which yoga discipline you choose, all of them aim at achieving a level of alignment of body, mind and soul which will promote general wellness, balance and well-being. Men in particular, should understand the importance of this concept, and not base their choices on a discipline only because it yields faster results. <p>If you are in a mixed class you will find that there are some poses that tend to be easier for women, and others that are easier for men. <p>You should also have fun, and not push your body beyond the threshold of what is being comfortable and safe for you. Most people feel a little stiff the day after practicing yoga. You shouldn&#8217;t push yourself past what feels comfortable to you.</p>

The latter is very popular in the west, and it is usually offered at exercise studios, gyms, schools and even at some workplaces. </p>
<p>But within hatha yoga there are also many different yoga schools or forms, and so the description &#8216;hatha yoga&#8217; has come to mean something a little more specific for us. If you happen to see advertisements for hatha yoga in your city, you should know that what is offered is probably a course which includes exercises that are demanding in terms of stretching, but are not very hard on your body. At the end of the class there will probably be some breathing exercises and relaxation time. </p>
<p>The word &#8216;yoga&#8217; means to join, or bind together, through meditation and exercise. From a spiritual point of view this can be seen as joining body and mind, left side and right side, male and female energy, yin and yang, or ending the separation of &#8216;me&#8217; from the rest of the universe. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is the creation of B.K.S. Iyengar and is a derivative of Ivengar and Hatha Yoga. It&#8217;s built on what&#8217;s known as the eight limbs of yoga. These 8 limbs are listed below. They&#8217;re based on honesty, seeking peace, and morality with our fellow man. </p>
<p>Another limb is morality within ourselves &#8211; finding inner peace. The poses of yoga is the third limb and these are the movements that are engaged when the art is practiced. Next is the breathing limb of yoga followed by centering deep with the body to the exclusion of whatever clamors for attention. Being able to focus comes next, not letting your mind get sidetracked by things in and out of the realm of the body. </p>
<p>In the 7th limb, which is meditation, you contemplate and develop tranquility and then comes the final limb which is understanding. You reach a level of discernment and there&#8217;s agreement of the mind and unity of the spirit and body. </p>
<p>Anyone can learn to practice Iyengar Yoga. In this style of yoga, one of the key elements is focusing on the preciseness found in the poses. The poses are so important that certain objects are allowed to be used in order to reach the preciseness of the pose.
